Hey, I have been playing the bari for about a month and a half. I have had lots a problems with it though, mouthpiece, I have a slim-line now. Reeds, Vandoren now. New style of ligature (sp). Pretty much the works. And I've gotten it to work, I just can't play anything below (mf). Any clue as to why? Anyone? and would air leeks be the problem, b/c I have found some leeks in some of my upper pads, and the pads for me low A# and also low B. So anyone have any info. And I have switched from an alto, for your own information. Thanks.

Simple answer. The same thing happened to me when i played bari in my school jazz band. All you have to do is drop your jaw A LOT. I mean it and also use a lot of air and go down down a scale and the lower you go the more drop your jaw in an exagerated manner and blow harder as you go down.
