I know a Piccolo can "overpower" ( sound louder than ) and orcestra, and so can the Flute ( really high notes ) , but can the Alto Flute? I mean, is it really that quiet of an instrument as they say it is?

I think if you can support the note with your breath and practice alot with it your can get as loud as a flute. I don't really know b/c i don't play Alto flute I am just taking a guess. But try it and see if it works and let me know.
