 Baroque Oboe Fingering

I play, for my own enjoyment, baroque flute and Boehm flute.

I've always been fascinated with the sound of the oboe, and double reed instruments in general. I like the idea of simple (minimal keys) instruments, so I am thinking about trying baroque oboe. I have four questions.

1. What's the fingering arrangement, e.g., compared to the baroque flute?

2. Will the embouchure/blowing requirements be similiar to a "modern" oboe? I've heard that it requires a lot of blowing pressure to play oboe.

3. Will I ruin my embouchure for playing the flute?

4. What about a shawn or rauschpfeifen?

Thanks in advance,

Bill

I found a website that answered most of my questions.

http://idrs.colorado.edu/Publications/Journal/JNL1/baroqueoboe.html

If anyone has any expertise in this area, I'd still like to hear it.

Thanks,

Bill
