i play the flute and hav recently tried to teach myself the saxophone. its a tenor one. the problem is that a D on the sax sounds like an F# on the flute and keyboard. im not sure if thats rite. plz email me bak and tell me ne1 hu knows. thanx alot.charli

Umm... actually you can't get much further away from what it's supposed to be than that. A D on the tenor saxophone is supposed to be a C on the flute/keyboard. I would look to see if you have a serious leakage problem somewhere.

I'm guessing that you have an alto...right? Alto saxophones are pitched in "E-Flat" meaning that all notes are written a sixth above what their actual pitch is. when you play a D, an F natural(a sixth below what is written, a D) should come out. The reason you got an F# is probably because the saxophone itself is sharp(to fix that, pull out the mouthpiece).

Hey just wanted to say I think that rocks b/c I play the alto and tenor and switched to flute just shy of a year ago. Saxophone is my real personal calling but just wanted to share.
