I am 16. I play the flute already, I taught myself. I wanted to know if anyone out there knows the best book for flute lessons. I just want to make sure I didn't miss anything. Thanks!

Try 'Standard of Excellence,' that's what my band uses. They have all the fingerings and stuff in the back. The red book is first, then the blue book, and then the green book which is the hardest. Good luck!

Try the flute books by Trevor Wye. I heard they're very good books. I only have one of them(Proper Flute Playing) and I find it very nice and informative, but its a bit priced in my country as it is imported. -_-;;

I'm only 12 & my band teacher gives us books that my band class & I could learn from. The books are Standard for Excellence. There is a red book to start off with and then there is a blue book which is a step higher, and finally there is a green book that is the highest book there is. There are stratiges in the books like scales and some short songs. The books are really good to help people to learn how to play the flute. Good luck on finding the perfect book!

the book is called
"Accent on Achievement"
by john o'reilly and mark williams
this book is very basic and straight foward, u can give it a try, if you'd like.

I alos tought myself.....I've been playing for 13 years. My advise to you would be....( as boring as they are) scales. :( " standard of excellence " is very good.
