In the concert Band, I was lucky enough to receive the 1st piccolo chair...but so was someone else. There are 2..yes 2 piccolos in our band. In arrangment for "Jupiter", it calls for the top picc to play an F (third ledger-space) and the lower picc to play and A ( first ledger-line). Anyways, how do you go about tuning a piccolo? The one i have is extremely sharp and when pulled out to the max, it is still sharp. My teacher said to move my lip slightly over the top of the hole. Is this correct?

yes that could work or you could try rolling in or out or ask if you can play the F down an octave. or try another piccolo;)

I play picc and when i am extremly sharp i try rolling the mouth piece in or out

Your cork might be set wrong. Ask someone who knows how to set the corks to take a look at it. You know this is the problem if certain octaves are more in tune than the other ones.

DO NOT ROLL OUT!!!!!!!!!! Piccolo_Boy and G-ma stop telling people to roll out!!! Rolling out will mess with your tuning ever more. Expecial if you take that habbid back over to the flute.
