 I've been experimenting with different fingerings on my clarinet, and I've noticed something interesting, especially in the Chalumeau, Clarion, and Altissimo registers. For notes like
 I find that using the standard fingering, which often involves the 4th hole, produces a tone that I personally prefer over using a specific key (like a side key or alternate fingering). The sound seems more open and resonant to my ear.
