 Thumb Plate System oboe
Author: Vicky

I recently bought an old oboe at a thrift shop, had it completely reconditioned, and now have a Thumb plate system instrument. Where can I get fingering chart? If I decide I'd rather have a conservatory system instrument, what is this one worth? (It's a Conn, 1929 era instrument)

Thanks,
Vicky

A tutor book called Learn as you play oboe by Peter Wastall will have a fingering chart for both thumb plate and conservatoire systems at the back. With regard to the value of you oboe, this is a little more tricky. Oboes that are in good working order should be worth around £250 upwards.
