 Strange Tenor Sax Things

Hi! Just wondering how you can get decent sounding high notes on tenor sax. I can get low notes really well, but when I try to play high (above 2nd octave), I get all kinds of squeaks. Any ideas?

I'm not a long time tenor player(now I'm an alto sax player and a flutist) but I used to have funny squeaks sometimes on the tenor, then I found out that its an embouchure problem(I think its too tight). Check your embouchure again. And have you gotten your G pitch on your tenor mouthpiece? Not only it improves your tone but I think it might fix your squeaky problem. Also try a harder reed, maybe a half step up harder. :)

You might have too much mouthpiece in your mouth.

often on the student level crappy saxaphones severely limit players. check your octave mechanism and make sure it's working right; it can have a profound effect on the sounding of the notes, especially from second D - second F.
