I bought my daughter a sopranno, from china on e-bay. The guy says it's key of B, I think he means B flat. So the basic questions are:
1. Soprano Fingering exactly the same as an Alto?
2. Anybody hear of a non-B flat soprano sax?

Yes the fingering is the same as an Alto.
I personally have not heard of a soprano without a B flat on the lower register.
What brand is your soprano? Selmer? Yanagisawa? Yamaha?

I am having some problems with finding a fingering chart for my soprano, as well. I know for definite, that my soprano does not have the same fingering as an e-flat alto (the most common alto sax). There are at least two sopranos that I know, b-flat and c. I wish us luck in figuring this out.

I plat baritone, tenor, alto and soprano saxophone, and they all have the same fingerings. What difference are you expering?

all saxophones have exactly the same fingerings. if you are experiencing a difference or are having to use a different fingering than on another saxophone to play a certain note then there's something wrong with your saxophone. take it to your local music store and have it fixed. who told you there were differences in fingerings?

the fingerings are all the same, but the key is different. when an alto plays a G and a soprano plays a C they sound the same. the only difference in fingereings is in the upper altissimo register, that is very high. soprano sax's can come in different keys, there is the common Bb that you most likely own. there is a less common soprano in C and there is a also a mezzo-soprano in F. hope this helps.

Start by just playing the crook, gently blow as if you were blowing out a candle, then progress to your sax don't expect too much at once just 10 - 15 mins aday for a while and you will soon be playing well (when I say the crook don't forget to to put your mouth piece on etc)
