Can't find a good piccolo solo....

I'm trying out for All State on January 7th on flute and piccolo and I HATE the piccolo solo my band director picked for me. I've looked but can't find any I like. Does anyone have a suggestion?

There is a good solo piece called the "Pied Piper", by Gordon Jacob. It's a two movement work, the 1st movement for Flute & the 2nd for Piccolo. Its a nice piece with some difficult passages but on the whole not overly so.
