work on your embechre, for one. also, if you're using a 2 1/2
reed or lower , you probably won't get any high notes. and calm down, just a bit.

maybe you need more breath support?? switch to a lower reed size, then work your way up

Higher notes need quite a bit of practice before they "come out right". Since you did not mention which notes and octave are giving you trouble, some general advice is: Start on a note you can play and slur up to the higher note. If you are crossing a break, play the note without the register key, then add the register key without tonguing or stopping your breath. Be patient. It may take many practice sessions before you can play these notes reliably.

Please contact me if you would like a more detailed explanation.

..And remember too.. always get the RIGHT SOUND before you proceed to a higher note. Don't blast.

-------------------------------

The clarinet "break" refers to moving between the note A written on the second space of the staff and middle line B.
For many notes on the clarinet you can move to the next note up or down by using only one finger. Moving "across the break" requires changing the position of all fingers at once, which makes it more difficult.

There are other "breaks" in the progression of your fingers as you get above the staff, but A to B is generally THE Break.
