Hi, I did the same thing my Sophomore year of High School, I was in marching band and wanted to be in Jazz Band and had always wanted to play sax. My dad felt the tenor was too big for me (I'm 5'1") so he bought be a brand-new Yamaha YAS-23, that was 1986. I still love to play my alto and have just bought off Ebay, a Conn "Director" 16M tenor. I also still have my Bundy Bb Clarinet and I have an antique Eb sopranino clarinet in Eb. I love all of my babies and play each when I can. Ask away, if I don't know, I have a wonderful sax expert that knows just about anything there is to know about saxes!

(long story short) played sax in HS 17 yrs ago. Birthday gift family buys me 2 saxes. 1st Diamond S-58r red lacquer soprano saxophone --- 2nd Selman green lacquer tenor saxophone ---question is I've never heard of them. Help me so this isn't a wasted money on their part. What kind of brand names are these? are they cheaper? inferior? beginner style? WHAT????? thanks michael
