 oboe reed cases

Are ribbon style reed cases generally better than the mandrel reed cases? I've been using the mandrel style case, and I'm getting a new one, but I'm not sure what kind to buy. Can someone suggest something? Thanks.

i would say that the ribbon style ones are much better, there's a greater risk of damaging your reeds with a mandrel case because of the movement.
