I recently got a clarinet from a friend of mine and have been researching it on the internet. I have found all sorts of Buffet-Evette listings but my clarinet doesnt include the buffet name. All it has stamped on it its Evette and the identification number. What kind of history does this have?

It's possible that it's an Evette Schafer, which is a very old Buffet clarinet (mid 1900's) and is no longer made. It could be a random copy, but if the instrument is well made, it probably isn't.

I just noticed something else. My clarinet was made in Germany. Does this have anything to do with it only having Evette on it?

Try searching Evette by Buffet on google or any other search site. Good luck, I still have no clue how old mine is!!
