 Bb fife fingerings
Author: Patrick

I am relatively new to music and I would like to know if anyone knows the fingerings for a Bb fife. I have seen fingerings for a D fife with advice to "transpose" to other keys. I cannot do this however, and would greatly appreciate the fingerings for a Bb fife. Thank you.

In the absence of anything better, take a look at the following web page.

http://www.chiffandfipple.com/diatonic1.html

Use the Bb scale (2 flats), and match up with the chart at the bottom of the page. This will allow you to sound the actual written musical notes. Some people "assume" that the fife is in the key of D, use the D fingering, but the music is transposed by the fife. The latter is acceptable if you are playing alone.
