clarinet is a finicky when it comes to embouchure, make sure your corners of your mouth are together and tight. your top teeth are clamped down on the top of the mouthpiece. and that your bottom lip is rolled over your bottom teeth tightly, there should b no cushion for the reed to sit on. sorry for better words, all of this should be done in moderation, if your embouchure is too tight, you'll squeek or no notes will come out. likewise it should be loose either. also reed placement. there should be a sliver of black from the mouthpiece over the reed when placed for playing. polishing the reed. the reed can is like any wood, it has a grain to it. these small grains can have air go through them. make sure to wet the entire reed thoroughly. then when the reed is wet, rub your finger along the face of the reed, the part you put your bottom lip on. rub it hard, but not near enough to break it. this should seal the open holes from the grain of the reed. make sure you are covering the holes of the clarinet fully. i know that sounds stupid, but a few clarinets i've helped out don't cover the holes all the way, air leaks out, and a squeek i possible. hope this helps.
