When tuning, do i pull the barrel from the upper joint or the mouthpiece from the barrel? And has antyone heared of the song "Pachinko"? It's a japanese song and it really sounds good and i was wondering if their are any sites that might have a soundclip of it.

It depends on how sharp/flat you are. Generally, when only a slight adjustment is needed it doesnt matter which part you pull out but for large adjustments it's better to pull out both a little instead of one a lot. If you pull from the upper joint too much your throat tones will be out of tune and can sound quite nasty (especially that Bb ewww). Happy tuning.

The first choice would be to pull the barrel. That way you don't risk dislodging or moving the reed and ligature on the mouthpiece.
