im gonna play one but i dont know how to put my mouth over it, like do you curl both lips around it and blow a straight line?

Which double reed instrument are you talking about specifically? I'm an oboist, so as far as oboe is concerned I can tell you that what you just said is the basic idea. While your doing that, your teeth shouldn't be too far apart, and you should make your chin flat while applying relatively even pressure on the whole reed with your lips, sorta like a drawstring pouch wrapped around the reed. Another way of getting it is by holding your lips out like you were whistling, and then rolling your lips over your teeth. The reed shouldn't be placed too far in the mouth, your head should be facing forward (not lowered) and the oboe should be held at around a 45 degree angle to the body. Then you just blow an intense air stream down the horn. The embourcure should be held in relatively the same position throughout the register, as intonation is controlled by the air stream.
