Just wondering if anyone could give me some tips on not squeeking. Its not that im not good, but everytime i try to surpass Forte i squeek. Can anyone help? Or is it just because i put to much air through? Ohh and i have a leblanc Infinate. Can anyone tell me anything about it?

Steve,

When you want to do fortes, you don't necessarily want to do them loud, but you definitely want to do them full. Yeah, you need to use more air, and supporting your tone using deep in your chest would be a good idea as well. Don't try pushing it too much. Also, your reed may be the problem... what kind of reed are you using?

If your moving your embouchure position maybe you have to keep it the same for any notes

Squeaking is generally caused by your embouchure not being firm enough. The way to combat this is lots of practice.

The first thing i would check is to see if you place the reed on properly and if so heres some ideas. You might have to loosen your hold on the mouthpiece. You might have to have a stronger reed. You always ,though no matter what, use the air from your stomach and not your chest because you can only get warm air from the stomach which gives a nice dark tone. You should have your stomach so tight that if someone punched you in the stomach you shouldn't feel hardly anything.
