i'm trying to write a song but i need to know the keys of many instruments. can someone tell me what key the barry sax, alto sax, trombone, and tuba are in? thanks

Bari Sax & Alto Sax are both E flat
Trombone & Tuba are both bass clef & therefore are in the key of C

I am quite queered. You are trying to write a song, yet you don't have the basic theory knowledge of transposition. May I know your background?

also the tuba and trombone READ in C, they aren't actually pitched in C.

it might be just me, but our tubas play in Bb
(and some bones also play and read in Bb)

The two saxophones are keyed in Eb:
-alto sax reads its music a sixth above what sound is actually produced
-bari sax reads its music an octave and a sixth of what sound is actually produced.
The two brass instruments don't have "keys", and don't need transposing:
-Trombone reads what is written in the bass clef (and sometimes tenor clef)

Some trombone and tuba parts are written on the treble clef and when this is done, they are written as if for Bb instruments. This is sometimes done for those who double on both high and low brass instruments.

thanks guys
in responce to flautist, i have been playing piano for 10 years, i am 15. i have 2 teachers and play in 3 school bands plus my own, i compete in jazz and classical, ensamble and solo. i have receved many awards a trophie etc.. anyways i know about transposition, i just needed to know what dboe said which was basically when the piano plays a concert Bb what do the other instruments play, i have only played Bb and concert instruments so i was not sure. thanks again,
