I'm a freshmen in high school and i've played....
alto sax-5th grade to 8th grade
Tenor sax-since 8th grade
Trumpet-7th grade (i quit)
Oboe-1 week ( oh my gosh!!! challenging little thing)
soon-clarinet,soprano sax

My dream has been to become famous playing the sax and clarinet and i will let nothing get in my way of that goal.I happen to like jazz band though i've never been in it.Marching band is really my favorite! My band teacher is racist and she put me in 6th chair out of 7 tenor saxes, but i challenged every single saxophone player and i got 1st chair finally, and she hated to do that but hey, i'm the only sax player that gets a thousand compliments after performances.Well let me shut up because i wouldn't want u 2 think that i'm just tryin to show off or n e thing. Though i have 1 question,Music theory....is it easy to catch on? it's my next goal!Oh and is it possible to take the class in college? is it mandatory to have the knowledge of that or does it just help a lot?

Well, I'm a sophomore in High School. I've played the oboe four years now and don't plan to quit any time soon. I've just this year learned clarinet. I've played a melodica about two years. Lol, recorder(!) for forever and a half and can play anything I can play on the oboe on it (as long as notes aren't too high). I hope to learn flute and/or piccolo, but that depends on whether or not my school's work any good. Heh, I plan to become a professional with the oboe and major in music (not exactly sure which field yet).

I have always lived in the UK, but not always London. I came here to join the Royal Academy of Music.

Hoping to go out into the big bad music profession when I graduate!

Yes, music theory is fairly easy if you give it a shot. Having a working knowledge of the piano makes it a lot easier, so you might want to familiarize yourself with it if you aren't already.

And yes, it's not only possible to take music theory, you have to take it if you're a music major.

I'm in 8th grade, and I've played the clarinet for almost five years and I've been playing the Eb soprano clarinet since January. I hope to major in music someday:)

I am a junior in HS and have played flute for 7 years. I am the best in my band and got a first division on my solo at solo and ensemble. The piece was Mozart Flute Concerto No 1 in G movt 1 Allegro Maestoso. I don't know if I want to be a professional flutist, I am torn between a music career and a computer career. I still don't know what I love more. I think I love each the same. I also study privately, if anyone is going to have a music career they must study privatly unless you are just a musical genious like Mozart and Bach. I stronly recomment private lessons for everyone. You will learn alot.

I'm a Freshman in high school. I've been playing the bassoon for almost 3 years now and I made the Florida All-State Band. How great is that?
