please help me.
How should i practise glissandos on the sax?
i have tried but it sounds just like a chromatic run when i hear all the notes one before another, if you understand me.

run the scale veryvery fast.if the song is slow tempo,u may use chromatic scale,but if the song u played is kind of fast one ,choose only the scale(in tha key)no need to make it clear ,just run the notes,it may sound like
ta-a-yap.

Glissando shouldn't actually be done using a scale...a true gliss takes a hell of alot of practice...and uses the throat, with the fingers only guiding the pitch.
Each note should merge in to the next...without having a distinct end or beginning. (think of those whistles with the slider in the end).
Glissing down is much easier than up, so do that first. Play and drop your jaw, but keep blowing! The pitch should drop. Play around with it, and eventually you'll get such a supple throat you can do all sorts of things with it.
