I have an Antigua XP series soprano sax that I bought on a whim, but it does not have a serial number. It is in brand new condition as I never got round to trying to play it, but it is proving difficult to sell due to the lack of an identifying number. People seem to think that is suspicious, no way of proving that it is not stolen. I have a habit of buying woodwind instruments from pawnshops, thrift stores, etc. I have several clarinets, bass clarinet, oboe, flute, recorders, etc.
Does anyone think that I should have a number engraved on it ? What sort of number ? Any suggestion will be much appreciated.

Antigua saxes are made in Taiwan, and Asian horns often do not have serial numbers.
If you engrave a number on it, you're going to make it appear even more "stolen!" Don't do it.
