The same advice I'd give a clarinetist studying flute - get a teacher.

I plan on taking lessons and the lesson teacher is supposed to contact me. I was just looking to see if there were any common issues for flautists learning clarinet.

Not really. Fingering system is similar, though the octaves are fingered completely different, since the clarinet overblows at a 12th, not the octave.

Obviously you have to learn a new embouchure and get used to reeds.

But no issues that would be specific to a flute player going to clarinet.

By the way, the correct term is flutist. You're a flautist if you live in Germany.

Some people find Americans saying "flautist" as a sign of pomposity.

The most common issue in my experience (coming to clarinet from virtually any wind instrument, flute included) is incorrect voicing. To vastly oversimplify: on flute you blow very warm air, on clarinet you blow very cool air. The only good way to make sure you're doing it right is, as mentioned already, to get a qualified teacher.

+1 for "flutist"
