 Hi, All!

Just got a doubling job in which the contract states that 'musicians have to provide their own pick ups.' I'm new to doubling professionally and would love to know what exactly that means...though I take it no trucks are involved. :-P

Thanks!

Katie :-)

Hmmm....I would suspect it may be another term for subs.

It may be language intended for rhythm section players, specifically acoustic bassists.

However, you'd do well to find out from the issuer of the contract exactly what they think it means before you sign the document.

Sounds like they mean amplification, but if you're doubling woodwinds, I doubt you need it. Like Merlin said though, contact the person and ask them.

I contacted them and was told I didn't have to worry about it. Thanks!
