 Buying Pearl flute

Hi people,

I am going to purchase a Pearl PF-665 from a local trading post vendor. I have seen the pic of the Pearl logo and serial number on the joint. Is there anything else I should look for e.g. on the head (to make sure it is the original solid silver head) ??

Somewhere on the headjoint (usually near the crown on the back, but at some point in Pearl's production history, it was also found near the tenon end), the model of the headjoint should be stamped. On the vast majority of the Quantz series Pearls, this is the 6J head. If you see a 6J anywhere on the head (you may also check the side of the lip plate that faces the mechanism, it's occasionally engraved there), then you're golden.

It may also just say "SILVER", which is also fine. As long as the Pearl logo appears on the headjoint, you've got the original.

The 665 is a great flute, and I'm sure you'll enjoy it immensely! :)
