Hey i'm a begginer flute player, been playing for about a year. I can get the low notes on the flute, but it takes a while for the engine to start, like it takes a split second before the sound comes out. Because of this, i also have trouble moving from high notes TO low notes because the airstream is just so different. Any tips addressing the low notes of the flute? Thanks alot!

A difficult one. This is probably the hardest thing to conquer on flute. I admit, I have good days and bad days on the subject. The best advice I can give you is long tones from b in the staff all the way down and octave slurs. Always use as good a tuner as you can afford. I know how it feels to me when I play it, but I'm sure for you it will feel different, so I'd feel bad telling you to hold your embouchure a certain way, as it may cause tension. The place in the embouchure that is correct for me is wide and low, as opposed to high and center for notes above the staff.

Hi,
I find voicing certain sounds helps across the registers: I use an 'oooooooooo' for the low notes an awwwwwwwwwwwwww for the middle notes and a 'thi' for the top notes. Give it a try or just experiment with different shapes/voicing and find out which suits you ;-)

I am an absolute beginner (senior citizen, self taught, plays clarinet), I can play from C4 to F5 with no problem, then G5 goes down an octave with a squeak. What can I do. ? I don't need a teacher......it's just for my own amusement.
