I'm on a path to become a woodwind doubler, hopefully at the most professional level. Until that time comes, what's some good freelance work for a flutist to survive on? Not to sound egotistical, but just to affim the possiblilty, I'm proficient on the instrument and have professional equipment.

Do as many musicals as possible. Get your name into the community theatre arena. For some you'll get paid a pittance, some you'll make some money. But the main thing you want to do is to get the real-life experience of doubling, and going from flute to another horn and then back again.
If you want to become a doubler, double and double often.

Hi Drew
How about finding a guitarist, or even a harpist, and doing some wedding gigs. Record some demos or set up a website.
Had a look at your YouTube clips, well done and good luck

Thanks for the praise Brad. I just joined a Wedding/Cover Band, so I will bring it up to play flute and piano for the Ceremonies.
