 Yamaha 811/812 bassoons
Author: Reese Oller

Hello, I was wondering if anyone had personal experiences with the Yamaha custom bassoons? I have read good things on them on the Yamaha website, but of course they're going to champion their own instrument.

Thoughts? Anecdotes?

I can play bass clarinet, Eb clarinet, BBb contra, alto saxophone, bassoon at a decent level, and flute in a pinch.

Hello,
Yamaha custom bassoons, like the YFG-812, are highly regarded for their rich, warm tone and excellent playability. They are favored by many professional musicians for their precise intonation and comfortable key design2. If you have the chance, trying one out in person would be ideal to see if it suits your playing style. peardeck login
