Just want to know more about his oboes, are they of comparable quality with the best out there? Found a student model sitting around the storage of a community band, want to know what it is worth (not value of price per say but value of play). Haven't had a chance to try it but want to know the reviews. Thank you.
Regards,
Howard

They're Australian, must be good! :D
I haven't seen one in the flesh, but I know he uses exotic Australian woods and that a lot of the mechanism (at least on the pro oboes) uses stainless. As for playability, I have no idea.

More details on them here: http://www.tomsparkesoboes.com.au/
Just noticed what's missing in one of the photos of his pro models - he's omitted the banana key, but how many players regularly use this key anyway? A LH C# is far more useful.
