I was given some tips on post adjustments for reeds that aren't working the way they should be, which when thought of from a reversed point of view might illustrate how the shape affects sound and intonation:

Saggy middle F# + G. Not considering that scrape here, one sands the neck with sand paper, the portion which is directly after the last thread. It absolutely works! So what does that equal to?

The body is the sound, so sanding this portion will result in less tone, which aint necessarily bad if the reed is not stable whilst having a bad tone.

Tip. I have no idea. Never been taught to sand the sides of the tip.
