I feel relieved to know that the people in Howarth shop are very friendly...this may sound a bit silly.
In fact, I am planning to pay a visit to the shop as well in August (I live in the Asia region). I myself play on a Howarth oboe, and I enjoy it very much. I am looking for an English Horn now, and so I think it would be great if I can go to the shop to try out some.
But the thing is, I am only a high school student (though I do plan to study oboe performance in college next year). Perhaps it may seemed to be a bit 'strange' to let a mere high school student to try out all those valuable instruments?
Another silly question, how do you guys try out the instruments? Scales? Orchestral excerpts?
I apologize for my poor English. =)
