The orchestral repertoire for oboe d'amore is mostly Baroque (Bach) and late Romantic/20th Century (eg. R.Strauss, Mahler, Ravel, Holst), and the bass oboe can substitute the Heckelphone parts, as well as being used by Holst and Delius.

If (like me) you like these composers, then having the full set and specialising in the deep oboes can be at your advantage if you get yourself known around the orchestral circuit.

Albrecht Mayer has released a CD of reworked Handel works (New Seasons) and there are several arrangements for oboe d'amore in this (I think he still plays a Howarth d'amore) and Jennifer Paull has several publications listed here http://www.amoris.com/
