Hi Richard,

I don't know your oboe teacher. I think it's actually not that difficult to find an oboe teacher in Hong Kong -- Hong Kong is very densely populated and it's easier to find a teacher, compared to, say, the USA.

Loree is the most popular brand in the US, but not for the rest of the world. This board has contributions by mostly people from the US, that's probably why you hear about Loree a lot. Do you have a particular preference for sound? Would you like to sound like a particular oboist? That would affect your choice of an instrument too.
