I am an amateur player with a 30 year old full automatic Dupin I am wanting to sell. It’s their standard model which was played on for 12 years, then it was in the cupboard pretty much untouched for 17 years. I have had it serviced last year and been playing on it for about a year. How do I go about selling? What do people pay for a second hand a Dupin? It’s in excellent condition, the key work probably needs a bit of fine tuning.
I am planning to upgrade to a new Dupin Bernadotte. Does anyone own one? Please would I be able to get people’s thoughts on it? I live a long airplane trip away from Luxemburg which means I buy blind. Going by the quality of my old Dupin I would expect nothing but excellent workmanship and quality.
Thanks everyone and greetings from Melbourne.

There are a few second hand Dupins for sell in my country. The prices are around $3000.

Thank you Jeltsin. I have seen them for $5-$6000 too even the standard model. But as they seem very rare I don’t have a large number of evidence for that. So I guess a safe sales price would probably be closer to $3k than $6k.
What about the Bernadotte? Would you by any chance have any feedback on that model?

I would suggest you try advertising on Musicalkchairs, or speak with Richard Craig or Stephen Moschner of oboe central who may possibly sell your instrument on consignment for you. Good second hand oboes appear to reach a higher price in Australia, than in the Uk or even the US once conversion and shipping is taken into account. All the very best.

I was wondering if I should sell in Germany as I have family there and many visitors this year who could take it back. Full automatic seems to be a lot more common there and should be easier to sell. If I convert EUR to AUD I will get a reasonable price.
Any thoughts on getting the Bernadotte? There is so little information in the web about Dupin. Having had one I would think you can’t make a mistake with buying one blind. It’s a bit like Hiniker I gather.
