Hello, I'm conducting some background research for a graduate paper on issues surrounding the sustainability of African blackwood harvesting. I would greatly appreciate answers to the following questions from anyone who sells oboes and other instruments made of wood:

1. Roughly how often (as an annual percentage) do prospective buyers ask you if the wood used to make the instrument came from a sustainable source?

2. What would explain this percentage (if you suspect there is an explanation)?

3. In your opinion, is any instrument manufacturer "ahead of the curve' in regard to sustainable manufacturing practices?

Please feel free to send your replies to me at: sassamon@connect.hku.hk. Data will only be used in aggregate form. Thank you very much, David
