Hi,
I took some lessons in June with a new teacher. She suggestion I move my embouchure more forward to better focus the air stream. I play an American Windows reed. It definitely improved the core of the sound. However, now that the embouchure is rounder and more cushioned about the reed I find my playing with my existing reeds can be on the flat side. I have a couple of option here ... of course clipping the reeds (which I have done). This brings up the pitch. But I also have adjusted my reeds to play more responsively with the new embouchure which brings the pitch down too. I haven't made any new reeds yet ... since I have an abundance of reeds I made before the summer.
Suggestions on reed tips (no pun intended) when playing with this more forward embouchure.

A C crow on the very tip and also next to the thread for me insures that the pitch will be ok. The crows must also not vary with low to high air pressure.
