 What is the difference between violetwood and rosewood?

I keep seeing both used but am unsure of the difference, if any.

Kingwood/violetwood is part of the same family (Dalbergia) as rosewood, grenadilla and cocobolo.

Kingwood/violetwood is a vibrant purple colour when freshly machined, but soon fades to a medium brown colour with a very marked grain pattern when exposed to light and air.

Rosewood, such as Honduran rosewood is more uniform in colour and is a reddish brown - pale brown when first machined but darkens through being polished.
