I had a go on a W&W ring key dual system cor today (Howarth S3 spec) and was really surprised by it considering I've only ever encountered their oboes before and don't particularly rate them. But this cor is definitely something that their oboes aren't.
I have no idea the numbers of cors they made or how long they made them for - I've only seen them listed in John Myatt's catalogues in the past but nowhere else so they are rare beasts. I have heard of one other that was being played professionally but that's it. But what was nice about this one is that it's dual system instead of pure thumbplate, so that made it straightforward for me to play.
The oboes are still being made in the form of K.Ge (previously Armstrong-Ward - I do hope the build quality is better than the old W&W ones), but no cors in the lineup.

Chris
Your post rather surprises me. You used to sign yourself as "oboe finisher for H.W.Howarth" What is your problem with Howarth oboes now ?.

I haven't got a problem with Howarth oboes - what makes you say that?

In your first paragraph you indicated that you don't particularly rate them.
Maybe I'm confused. My apologies if so.

I don't rate Ward & Winterbourn oboes all that much.
What I would like to know is the model number of the ring key conservatoire system/dual system cor - the DE5 is full Gillet conservatoire system and the DE3 is pure thumbplate system, so wondering if the ring key conservatoire system is maybe a DE4.
