I opened my EH case yesterday afternoon and got a scare when the entire inside of the case - including back of the horn - was soaking wet.
It turns out my case humidifier had leaked and emptied about 1/2 oz. of water into the inside of the case (I had just filled it).
No damage fortunately - a quick touch-up with some oil and my Ehorn is just fine. The case is still drying.
I will definitely be switching to the "sponge type" of case humidifier now.

To humidify my horns, I place the cases, opened with horns in them in the bathroom post showers in dead of winter and the driest part of summers.
Been doing that for over 20 years in CO. And no problems so far.
A couple sticking keys are always the sign I need to repeat the process.
I do bore oil too a couple times a year.
# oboes. no cracks for 20+ years.
I do wonder what the pro tech guys think, though.
