With great sadness I report that legendary oboist Ray Still has passed away. This sad news was posted on his Facebook page. Below is the post.
"Ray Still died peacefully today in Woodstock Vermont, on his ninety-fourth birthday, surrounded by family and listening to Bach's St. Matthew Passion.

I just received an oboe yesterday and wanted to call him and ask him about a few of the things he taught me years ago. The legacy he has left is simply incalculable! His recordings will remind us for sure.
One of his many students who will try to continue to teach his principles.
