Hello Everyone,
I am in the process of trying some really nice used oboes. I've had them for two days, and one in particular is striking my interest. I've just taken out the tuner with them, and noticed that their trends are different in how I have to voice them to play in tune. On the particular oboe I like, the low register is slightly sharper than the same pitch an octave above, so the higher I play, the more open I have to make my mouth/throat to compensate. A different oboe has the opposite, where when I play higher, I need to blow a bit harder and keep my mouth cavity only slightly smaller. How do your personal oboes play in this regard? Thanks.
