I'm pretty sure the AK staple is shaped differently than a regular staple. Does anyone know where to get a mandrel for it? Thanks.

I bought mine at www.oboe-shop.de about 2 years ago. It also fits perfectly on Chudnow type E staples, so if you find a mandrel for them he should work too.
To my surprise the AK staples I get from the oboe-shop.de got suddenly wider at one point about a year ago. My old ones fit exactly on the mandrel but the newer go a little bit further down. If you get yours could you tell me how your staples fit and where you get them?

Yea, I think Forrestsmusic.com sells a Loree AK mandrel for $90. Ridiculous price. Funny enough, I own the MCW mandrel, but it doesn't fit the AK staples, and fits his Staples just right. The AK bore is different, I think it's thinner at the top, and flares more at the bottom (but it's been a long time since I put the reeds on the AK staples to remember). I'm going to keep looking for a cheaper alternative.
A side note, I spent 4 weeks camping outside of Utrecht last year, and traveling around Holland and Belgium (Maybe Ginkeldun was the place). You have a beautiful country. Granted I haven't been there in winter to know it then, but in the summer it's phenomenal.
