 Rieger - Tip Cutter
Author: mjfoboe

Does anyone own a Rieger Oboe Reed Tip Cutter?

And if you do what has been your experience with the machine?

Is it worth the investment? Pros ... Cons ....

And does anyone have a good source for pair of "nippers" "snippers"?

My pair which I have used to cut tips for years has worn out.

Hi everyone.............

I bought the Rieger - Tip Cutter a few weeks back.

It is quite expensive; however, I LOVE IT!

If you have the extra cash .... give it a look ............ no more razor blades for me ... and it cuts the tip on a very slight slant too.

I've looked at them, but I don't get one mainly cause I trim my edges at 45 degrees, so I'd have to put it on a cutting board anyway. Plus I can sharpen my razor blades real sharp before the cut, so I know it's not gonna chip. I think tip cutters are probably good though.
