I agree with Cooper on how to handle hard cane. In addition, try displacing the blades if they are not already overlapping; and if they are overlapping, try displacing them a little further. A reed which works made on hard cane is a treasure. It might be that you play it a few more times at home for short periods before it makes its public debut.
