Well it turns out you were right- it is a Bundy. I found a teacher and got her a-hold of this thing. She said I may have been told it was an Armstrong but it is a Bundy- the bell is a Lesher.
She did some major bending of keys, re-seated a pad and it plays better. She got some of the leaks sealed in the top, but agreed with me that the horn is not worth putting money into since it will never be anything but what it is, an old oboe that's had a very hard life. She said it is hard to play, which makes me feel better(I thought it was all just me).
So, while the horn is pretty much toast, I'm excited to have found a teacher. I'll toot around on this one until I can find something that is better, and now with a teacher!!!!!
