 Repadding a bass
Author: Kurt
Date:   2002-12-01 01:06

I'm repadding a bass (Harry Peddler) and am interested in peoples opinions about the type of pad. What was on there appears to be leather pads, mostly with rivets like sax pads. My Vito (newer) uses the skin type of pad. Ferree's catalog lists a type B42 sax pad that is also used on newer bass clarinets (definately not mine!). Would it be better to use the leather pads or should I use the skin type? What are the advantages/disadvantages of each? Thanks.

Kurt
