 Metal clarinet info

A friend was told to clear out some junk in the attic at the school where he works. As he knows I play he asked me if I wanted one of the instruments he found. I know that it's way beyond any hope of restoration. I would just like to find a little history if anyone knows something about it. A photo is attached. with a little polishing I found the following: A serial # D7767, Logo on the bell "American Perfection"
