Hello.
I have recently started playing the clarinet again after quitting about 12 years ago. I started in fifth grade and quit in the tenth grade. I played on and off in a community band after that but eventually quit. I have a Vito plastic student clarinet, and I'm thinking of purchasing my first wood clarinet.
When I was a serious student, my parents considered buying me a Buffet R13. I'm now playing for fun in a community concert band, and I was thinking of buying an intermediate model, such as a Buffet E11 or a Noblet clarinet. Does anyone have any recommendations? I've considered buying a clarinet from one of the music stores on the Web, because the prices are so much better. I'm not sure if that's a good idea, because I won't have the ability to test more than one clarinet for comparison. Would it be better to try to find a used Buffet R13 instead of purchasing a new intermediate model?
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks.
